News 2007

December 8th & 9th - East Coast Ladies : In the Beardies Bernie got BOB on both days and then went on to BEST OF GROUP & INTERMEDIATE OF GROUP on the Saturday. On the Sunday she got INTERMEDIATE OF GROUP . In the Aussies, Zippo once again got BOB both shows and RESERVE OF GROUP on the Sunday, but the nice part to the weekend was Nandi taking out the BCC & RBOB both days as well. Way to go Nandi. The first two CC's on your way to becoming a champion. A nice way to finish the year of showing. See you all next year again.

November 24th & 25th - Franklin Kennel Assn: In the Beardies, Bernie took BOB both days but went no further. In the Aussies, on the Saturday Zippo got the DCC & BOB and Grace got the BCC and Kiara the BRCC. Timone got NZ BRED OF GROUP . On the Sunday, Timone got the DRCC and Grace got BCC & RBOB with Nandi getting the BRCC. Timone once again got NZ BRED OF GROUP . As Sunday was Nandi first outing in the ring after arriving out of quarantine on Friday afternoon, we were really thrilled with her as you can imagine.

November 17th & 18th - Wairarapa Kennel Assn: It was a relatively quiet weekend with Hannah getting all the CC's and Bernie taking all the RCc's. Hannah got one BOB along with 2 RBOB in the Beardies. She did get NZ BRED OF GROUP and then went on to BEST NZ BRED IN SHOW. A very nice win. In the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC's and BOB at each of the shows, with Vegas getting the DRCC;s and RBOB at each show. Grace got the BCC at each show. Zippo got RESERVE OF GROUP at one of the shows. Bond did very well getting and BABY PUPPY OF GROUP at the 1st show.

November 3rd & 4th - Taupo Kennel Assn: What a great start out weekend for Bronwyn's new Beardie, Bernie. Her first show on the Saturday, she got the BCC and with that went Best of Breed. However, on the Sunday, Bernie got the BCC & BOB again and then went on to BEST OF GROUP & INTERMEDIATE OF GROUP . In the Aussies, Dart got DCC & RBOB on the Saturday with DCC on the Sunday. Grace however got BCC & BOB both days and went on top OPEN OF GROUP on both days as well. What a great weekend.

October 27th & 28th: Ladies Kennel Assn: On Saturday, Hannah got the BCC & BOB while in the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC & BOB with Grace taking out the BCC & RBOB and Sidney getting the BRCC. Zippo went on to RESERVE OF GROUP & OPEN OF GROUP . On the Sunday we had another good day with Zippo getting the DCC & BOB, and Grace taking out the BCC with Sidney getting the RBCC once again. Dart went on to JUNIOR OF GROUP with Zippo taking out the OPEN OF GROUP .

October 20th & 21st : Manawatu Kennel Assn and Central Districts Working Dog: We had a quiet weekend away at Manawatu shows and did manage to get in some showing along with a lot of socialising. On the Saturday, Zippo got the DCC & BOB with Dart taking the DRCC. Grace got the BCC along with RBOB. On the Sunday, Dart got one of the DCC with BOB while Vegas got the other one. Grace got both BCC's one with BOB. In the Beardies, Hannah got the BCC with BOB and went on to NZ BRED OF GROUP . Dart also managed a JUNIOR OF GROUP .

October 13th & 14th : Tauranga Kennel Assn: In the Aussies on the Saturday, Vegas got the DRCC while Kiara took the BCC & RBOB. Bond got Baby Puppy of Breed. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DCC & BOB with Hannah taking the BCC & RBOB. On Sunday, Zippo got the DCC & BOB with Vegas once again getting the DRCC, Kiara got the BCC & RBOB while little Jinx got the Reserve Bitch and Baby Puppy of Breed. She actually stood still for more than 3 secs at a time. Zippo went on to RESERVE OF GROUP .

October 6th & 7th : Bay of Islands: Allan and Bronwyn travelled up to Keri Keri taking just 3 dogs with them. In the Aussies, Vegas got the DCC & BOB with Bond getting the Reserve Dog as he is still a Baby Puppy. In the Beardies, Hannah got the BCC & BOB both days. No-one went any further in the Group Specials.

September 28th - 30th: NZKC National Dog Show: What a show!!!! In the Aussies Zippo got the DRCC and Grace got the BCC & RBOB. Jinx got Baby Puppy of Breed. However, in the Beardies, Hannah excelled herself and firstly got the BCC & BOB and then went on to BEST OF GROUP . To crown a beautiful 3 days, Hannah entered the BIS ring looking glorious, was judged by Mr Horatio Pizzorno (Uruguay), and after some consideration, was awarded BEST IN SHOW ALL BREEDS and of course BEST NZ BRED IN SHOW at the most prestigious show of the year in New Zealand.

September 28th: Wellington Working Dog Club: In the Beardies, Kovu got the DRCC once again, with Hannah getting the BCC & BOB. She then went on to NZ BRED IN SHOW . With the Aussies, Grace excelled herself with BCC & BOB and Kiara got BRCC. Bond once again got the Baby Puppy of Breed. Grace went on to BEST IN SHOW.

September 27th: Prelude Show: In the Aussies Zippo got the DRCC and Bond got Baby Puppy of Breed. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DRCC and Hannah got BCC & BOB and then went on to RESERVE OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP . She went on to NZ BRED IN SHOW .

September 22nd & 23rd: Napier Kennel Centre: On Saturday , in the Aussies Vegas got the DCC & BOB while Jinx got Baby of Breed and RBOB. In the Beardies, only Hannah was entered from our kennel and she got BCC & RBOB. On the Sunday, Vegas once again got the DCC & BOB with Jinx the Baby Puppy of Breed and RBOB, and in the Beardies, Hannah this time got the BCC & BOB although we did nothing further in Group.

September 8th & 9th - Huntly & Districts KA: In the Aussies Grace got the BCC and Kiara the BRCC however we did nothing more with them. ON the Sunday, Zippo got the DRCC with Grace getting the BCC & RBOB and Kiara the BRCC. In the Beardies, on both Saturday and Sunday, Hannah got the BCC with BOB and Kovu got the DCC & RBOB. On Sunday, Hannah also got RESERVE OF GROUP .

At the Waikato Collie Club Show on the 8th of September - Hannah excelled and once again came away with BEST IN SHOW & NZ BRED IN SHOW .

August 26th - Wellington Ladies Kennel Assoc: In the Beardies, Hannah got the BCC & BOB. In the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC & BOB, Vegas got the DRCC and Kiara got the BCC & RBOB.

August 26th - Wellington Working Dog Club - In the Beardies, Kovu got the DRCC while Hannah got the BCC and BOB and then went on the NZ BRED IN SHOW . With the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC & BOB, while Kiara got the BCC.

August 25th - Wellington Ladies Kennel Assoc: In the Beardies, Hannah got the BCC. With the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC & BOB while Kiara got the BCC.

August 25th - Wellington Working Dog Club: In The Beardies, Kovu got the DCC & BOB while Hannah got the BCC & RBOB. In the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC & BOB while Kiara got the BCC. Zippo went on to OPEN IN SHOW .

August 5th - Kumeu Champ Show: In the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC and BOB with Denver taking out the DRCC & RBOB. Kiara once again got the BCC. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DCC & RBOB with Hannah getting the BCC & BOB. She then went on the RESERVE OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

August 4th - The Collie Club: Kovu got the DRCC and Hannah got the BCC & BOB. Hannah then went on to BEST IN SHOW & NZ BRED IN SHOW . She really enjoyed her day showing after our month long break for the show scene.
Kumeu Championship Show: In the Aussies, Timone for the DCC & BOBwith Zippo taking out the DRCC and RBOB. Kiara got the BCC and Denver got Junior of Breed. We did nothing the in the group with any of the dogs..

June 16th - Wellington Management Board : AM Show - In the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC & RBOB while Grace got the BCC & BOB. In ther Beardies, Hannah got the BCC & BOB and then went on to BEST OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP . To top off a great show, Hannah then went on to BEST IN SHOW ALL BREEDS and of course BEST NZ BRED IN SHOW. This now makes Hannah a Grand Champion.

In the PM show, Zippo once again got the DCC, this time with BOB and Grace got RBOB, while in the Beardeis Hannah again got BCC & BOB. She went on to RESERVE OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP . To finish a wonderful day, she finshed on NZ BRED IN SHOW ALL BREEDS . Bronwyn was on Cloud 9 and luck Pam Douglas had the honour of crying on TV as she was being interviewed when Hannah took out the ultimate BIS All Breeds.

June 9th & 10th - Auckland Exhibiton Centre : Saturday: In the Aussies, Denver got the DCC & BOB with Dart taking out the DRCC & RBOB. In the bitches Kiara got the BCC and Grace got the BRCC. Denver went on to JUNIOR OF GROUP and Dart got PUPPY OF GROUP . In the Beardies Kovu got the DCC & BOB and Hannah got BCC & RBOB.

Sunday: In the Aussies Denver once again got the DCC & BOB with Timone taking out the DRCC & RBOB. In the bitches Grace got the BCC while Kiara got the BRCC. Denver went on to JUNIOR OF GROUP once again. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DCC & RBOB while Hannah got the BCC & BOB. Hannah went on to BEST OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

May 11th & 12th - Hawkes Bay Kennel Assn: Saturday: In the Aussies, Timone got the DCC & BOB with Zippo the DRCC, Sidney got the BCC & RBOB and Kiara took out the BRCC. In the Beardies, Hannah got BCC & OB with Kovu taking out the DCC & RBOB. Hannah then went on to BEST OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

Sunday: In the Aussies, Timone once again got the DCC & RBOB with Zippo getting the DRCC & RBOB. In the bitches, Kiara got the BCC and Sidney got the BRCC. In the Beardies Hannah got the BCC & BOB with Kovu getting the DCC & RBOB. Hannah went on to RESERVE OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

May 5th & 6th - Eastern Bay of Plenty: Sunday: Dart took the DCC & RBOB with Grace getting the BCC & BOB. I the Beardies, Hannah got the BCC & BOB and then went on to BEST OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

Saturday - Dart took the DCC & RBOB with Grace getting the BCC & BOB. I the Beardies, Hannah got the BCC & BOB and then went on to BEST OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

April 14th & 15th - Cambridge Kennel Assn: Sunday - Denver got the DCC along with BOB, and then went on to BEST OF GROUP and JUNIOR OF GROUP . This DCC was his final points needed for his championship (subject to NZKC) so we had a really great weekend with our first homebred champions, both just 12 months. In the Beardies, Kovu once again got the DCC and RBOB, and Hannah got the BCC and BOB. She ended up with RESERVE OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

Saturday - In the Aussies, Zippo got the DCC along with BOB and Denver took out the DRCC and RBOB. In the Bitches, Kiara got the BCC and can now be known as a Champion. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DCC and RBOB, with Hannah taking the BCC and BOB. In the Group Hannah got BEST OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

April 9th - Auckland Working Dog - Not a great day for the Aussies with Grace and Denver flying the flag for us with BRCC and DRCC respecatively. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DCC & BOB while Hannah got the BCC & RBOB. Hannah then went on to NZ BRED IN SHOW .

April 9th - The Collie Club - A good show for us in the Hannah got the BCC and BOB with Kovu getting the DCC & RBOB. Hannah then went on to BEST IN SHOW and NZ BRED IN SHOW while Kovu went on to INTERMEDIATE OF SHOW .

April 7th & 8th - Auckland Kennel Council - We had a good day on the Saturday under Pat Scales who awarded Zippo DCC & BOB with Timone taking out the DRCC. Kiara got the BCC with Grace getting the BRCC. Little Dart got Puppy of Breed and then went on to PUPPY OF GROUP . In the Beardies, Kovu got the DCC and RBOB while Hannah got the BCC and BOB. She then went on to RESERVE OF GROUP & NZ BRED OF GROUP .

On the Sunday, Zippo got the DRCC and Grace got the BCC with Kiara taking out the BRCC. Dart once again got the Puppy of Breed and did really well again some good opposition to get PUPPY OF GROUP . In the Beardies, Hannah once again got the BCC and BOB, however it was Kovu who got the DCC & RBOB along with INTERMEDIATE OF GROUP .

March 25th - NZKC Auckland Benefit Show - RCC went to Zippo, RCC went to Kiara who went on to take out PUPPY OF GROUP . In the Beardies, Kovu got DCC & RBOB while Hannah got the BCC and BOB and then went on to NZ BRED OF GROUP .

March 17th & 18th - Wanganui Kennel Assn - DCC & BOB went to Zippo with DRCC to Dart, and BCC and RBOB to Kiara and BRCC to Grace. In the Beardies Hannah got BCC & BOB with Kovu getting the DCC & RBOB. On the Sunday, Zippo once again got the DCC with Dart getting the DRCC, however Grace got the BCC & BOB with Kiara taking out the BRCC and RBOB. In the Beardies Hannah got BCC & BOB again and Kovu gor the DCC & RBOB again. Hannah then went on to RESERVE OF GROUP and Kovu got INTERMEDIATE OF GROUP .

March 11th - Hamilton Kennel Assn - DCC & RBOB went to Dart with BCC & BOB to Sidney and BRCC to Kiara. In ther Beardies, Hannah got BCC & BOB and Kovu got DRCC but then went on to JUNIOR OF GROUP .

March 4th - Central Hawkes Bay Kennel Society - DCC & BOB went to Zippo with DRCC going to Dart. BCC went to Kiara with Sidney getting the BRCC. In the Beardies we had a stunning day with Hannah getting BOB and then BEST OF GROUP and NZ BRED OF GROUP . We then had to wait for the ultimate prize in the show world BEST IN SHOW ALL BREEDS and of course BEST NZ BRED IN SHOW. What a glorious weekend it has been. Bronwyn has owned Hannah for just one year, so what a super experience for her and our heartfelt thanks must go to Pam Douglas for parting with such a superb bitch.

March 4th - Dominion Collie Club - DRCC went to Kovu with BCC & BOB going to Hannah. To crown the start of a glorius day in Hawkes Bay, Hannah went BEST IN SHOW and BEST NZ BRED IN SHOW as well.

March 3rd - Central Districts Working Dog - DCC & BOB went to Zippo with Dart getting the DRCC. BCC went to Sidney with Grace getting the BRCC and Dart getting Puppy of Breed. In the Beardies, DCC and RBOB went to Kovu with BCC & BOB going to Hannah. She then crowned a good day by going BEST IN SHOW and BEST NZ BRED IN SHOW.

March 3rd - Central Hawkes Bay Kennel Society - DCC & BOB went to Zippo with Dart getting the DRCC. BCC went to Kiara with BRCC going to Sidney. Zippo went on to get RESERVE OF GROUP and OPEN OF GROUP , and little Kiara went really well and got PUPPY OF GROUP . In the Beardies, Hannah got BCC & BOB.

February 24th & 25th - North Shore KA - Yes, another good weekend. On the Saturday Denver again got another CC & BOB with Kiara taking out the BCC. In the Beardies, Hannah got the BCC & RBOB with Kovu getting the DCC & BOB and then going on to JUNIOR OF GROUP . On the Sunday. Zippo got the DCC & BOB with Grace taking out the BCC and Kiara the BRCC and PUPPY OF GROUP . In the Beardies Kovu got the DCC & RBOB with Hannah taking out the BCC & BOB and then going on to BEST OF GROUP and NZ BRED OF GROUP .

February 17th & 18th - Tokoroa - Well the good weekends keep on happening - Saturday at Tokoroa, having taken only 2 Aussies and 2 Beardies, BCC & BOB to Grace who then went on to OPEN IN GROUP , BRCC & RBOB to Kiara and in the Beardies, DCC & BOB to Kovu and BCC & RBOB to Hannah. Kovu went on to JUNIOR OF GROUP

On the Sunday, we had two shows, and at the All Breeds show Grace once again took the BCC & BOB, but Denver got the DCC & RBOB. Kiara got the BRCC. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DRCC and Hannah got BCC & BOB and then went on to RESERVE OF GROUP and NZ BRED OF GROUP.

Febraury 3rd & 4th - Hibiscus Coast: Another great weekend for us here at Ukulunga. On Satruday, Denver got the DCC and BOB in Aussies with Zippo taking the RCC, and Kiara got the BCC with Sydney getting BRCC. In the Beardies, Kovu got the DCC with Hannah getting the BCC & BOB. In the Group lineup, Hannah got BEST OF GROUP and NZ BRED OF GROUP , with Denver getting RESERVE OF GROUP and PUPPY OF GROUP . We had an extremely long wait for the Best in show specials where Hannah won RESERVE BEST IN SHOW and NZ BRED IN SHOW . What a great show. On the Sunday, Denver once again got DCC and Best Puppy, however Sydney got the BCC & BOB with Grace taking out the BRCC and RBOB. In the Beardies, Kovu once again got the DCC but this time with RBOB, and Hannah once again taking out the BCC & BOB. In the Group lineup, she got RESERVE OF GROUP and NZ BRED OF GROUP

January 20th & 21st - Kapi -Mana : A good start to the year for this kennel. We only took 2 Aussies and one Beardie to the show but came away with DCC & BOB at both shows with Magic (ably handled by Eileen Garlick who is going to campaign him in the South Island for 2 years) and DCC & BOB at both shows for Kovu who also garnered JUNIOR OF GROUP at the Saturday Show.
